Pregnant women may be transported provided they are not more than four (4) weeks pregnant for a singleton pregnancy and no more than eight (8) weeks pregnant for multiple pregnancies before their due date and there is no risk of premature birth.
Women with gestational age:
- up to 28 weeks shall be transported with a certificate on the term of pregnancy and the absence of contraindications for the flight, issued by the doctor of the antenatal clinic;
- from 28 weeks to 36 weeks, inclusive, in case of a singleton pregnancy, shall be transported with a certificate on the term of pregnancy and the absence of contraindications for the flight and an exchange card issued by the doctor of the antenatal clinic;
- Pregnant women in case of multiple pregnancies shall be transported up to 32 weeks, inclusive, with a certificate on the term of pregnancy and the absence of contraindications for the flight and a prenatal record issued by the doctor of the antenatal clinic.
Transportation of pregnant woman shall be carried out provided that the air carrier does not bear any responsibility to the passenger for the consequences of the flight, as evidenced by her guarantee obligation, and if the airline representative has any doubts regarding the possibility of a safe flight for a pregnant woman at any stage of pregnancy, the airline shall refuse to carry the passenger.
The airline shall not accept for the carriage even with a medical certificate if the due date of delivery is expected within the next 7 calendar days.
Postpartum mothers and newborn babies shall not be allowed to be transported during the first 7 calendar days after birth.
The airline shall be entitled to deny carriage of the pregnant woman if it is regulated by the requirements of immigration legislation of the country of destination.
Pregnant women shall not be provided with seats at emergency exits.
